Patricia Wanjama

A seasoned governance practitioner and a corporate lawyer with close to 20 years  experience gathered in the legal practice and corporate world; Patricia is the definition of steadfastness and determination. She is a registered Certified Secretary and an accredited Governance Auditor with the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ICS). In addition, Patricia is a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner of Oaths, a Notary Public and holds an MBA from Strathmore Business School.

With an admirable strength of character and lady of her word, she has grown through the ranks in her career to become an asset in the governance and corporate law fields, serving as key legal advisor to various management teams and Boards of Directors in the Financial Services Industry and Not-for profit sectors. She has had front row experience in building and managing stakeholder relationships and managing client relations in order  to ensure swift execution of  legal and corporate affairs. She has also administrated Corporate Social Responsibility strategies and operations.

A solution seeker with a never give up attitude, Patricia’s finds meaning in her work when she is part of the solution and this has seen her multi task and lead diverse department operations, handle legal affairs, and provide company secretarial services.

Patricia’s key experiences include sitting as a director in a number of organisations both corporate and not-for- profit. She has acted as a Company Secretary to several Boards under a matrix board structure, which included coming up with a Governance Frameworks, developing Annual Work Plans, Conducting Board Training and Inductions, conducting Board Evaluations, Maintaining Share Registers, and organizing  Annual General Meetings. Patricia has led a team in Governance Audit exercises and is now dabbling as a Sustainability Consultant.

Outside of her home country, Patricia has acted as the regional legal counsel executing the expansion strategy for a leading Insurer, into Uganda, South Sudan, and Rwanda.

In her free time, Patricia loves to travel, explore the outdoors, dance, read and spend time with family and friends. Patricia also loves to interact with and teach children. She enjoys sharing from her life experiences through mentoring and hopes that her life lessons would be of assistance on another person’s life path. She enjoys cycling, running, hiking and swimming on a sunny day.
